I looked up the part number for the ngk iridium plugs at ngk.com, then picked them up at my local auto parts store.

The part number the website gave me for my 99 Disco 2, was BPR6EIX (gapped at .032)

When I got them home I noticed right away that the nut portion bigger as well as the length of the ceramic was longer.

The thread diameter, pitch, and distance from shoulder to electrode seemed to be the same.

I carefully tried one of them and it seemed to fit OK (there seemed to be room for the larger nut on the head).

It seems to be working fine (I even monitored for roughness and misfires with my diagnostics program).

Between discoweb and landroverword, I have seen all sorts of part numbers:

BPR6ES-11
BPR5EIX
BKR5EIX-11

None of these match what ngk.com specified. I have contacted them through the site to make sure this is what should have been listed, and I am waiting for a reply.

Think it is safe to put the rest in?

Should the gap be .032

Thanks for any advise/info anyone could give on this,

Dan

Still have not gotten a reply from NGK, but my local parts store looked up my vehicle in thier book and the number they came up with matches what was on the NGK site (influding the gap at .032).

So I put them in last night and don't seem to have any problems (other than the occasional misfire problem on #7 that I had to begin with).

Maybe time will tell...

Dan
