I just pick up a '07 LR3
I slapped my 20" rims on it, looks nice!
However, my rims do not have sensors therefore I am getting the tire pressure error because the OEM rims have the sensors on them.

Is there any way to turn this feature off? With other luxury vehicle I know you can.

You will have to pay a dealer to use his T4 scanner to shut down that system.

I'm not sure you can shut it off w/ T4, being a government-mandated safety feature. If that can be done, let us know.
Another trick I've heard of working, (and I have not tried this) is sealing them in some PVC pipe, and pressurizing that, and keeping it in the car.
Intersting theory anyway.

even if I am still under the warranty, I stillhave to pay?
Winter is coming and the OEM rims are going back on whenthe snow comes.
I am guessing when they go back on the error will go away?
Let me know:confused:

You could buy an extra set of sensors (about $200/250), or transfer those on your OEMs onto the 20s if you don't plan to swap wheels much? TPMS is a useful feature to have and I don't think a dealer would be willing to turn off the warning light since it is now mandatory. Or, put a nice sticker on the warning light and live with it. I heard about the pressurized PVC hose holding the sensors in the trunk, but I don't see how that would work on the LR3, since there are proximity antennas in each wheel well that detect the signal from each sensor. If you are willing to go that far, you might as well put them on the wheels, no?

I will be switching tires every season.
$200/250 just because of a light:hmpf:
no, as long as I know it is not a problem with the vehicle, I can live with the light during the summer season:rolleyes:

thanks for the help:proud: now just have to get rid of the check engine light:mad:

$250 for TPMS year round? Sounds cheap to me...but then again I'd be the one putting electrical tape over my check engine light :)

so you don't think it is a major problem, did you ever have the check engine light problem?
