Transmission jerking?

I am already on my second LR3 due to me totalling my first one. I have one question though, Do all of you LR3 owners notice when you come to a stop, and then go to accelerate, the transmission delays to catch gear, and then does a violent ****? thanks!

i have had a little bit of it a few times, but i find if i take a smooth initial take up on the throttle it is fine.

i suspect my spouse, who seems to have a non-smooth foot gets it more often. i also doubt she notices it if it does occur!

I called the dealer for an oil change.
I mentioned that my transmission was jerking and that I heard about a software update. I mentioned that I heard it here.

Well they check their "computer" to see if my vehicle was consider at risk, and she was like, Yep, it is. I was like "why wasn't I told?"

So word to the wise people ASK YOUR DEALER, because they won't ask you!

I did on my previous LR3 and they had to 'Re-Program' the transmission software. For the accident ?; When i was driving in upstate New York, a Tractor trailer for hood dairy lost control and hit me while i was doing 48mph... The truck was doing 35 or something. The car held up fairly well, but the frame did kind of dismantle a bit. My knees were sore for about a week after because my knees hit the steering column, and worst of all my right knee hurt because my knee hit where the key was and it ripped the fob off the key but the key was still stuck in the ignition! Other than that the car held up decently, Im on my second one though

They check for (and apply) the necessary updates as customers come in for some other service. I guess they figure that it won't be long before they see you again, right?

According to my inside guy, Land Rover has a new transmision software upgradefor this problem which was released in August. He agrees that previous transmission software upgrades to resolve jerking into gear from a California stop were not successsful.

Has anyone had this new software upgrage?

I will have it installed during my next service.

I've had it done, and it is much better. THis software is NOT installed as part of B036, it is seperate.

Harsh Transmission Downshift (2nd to 1st)
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
LR3 (LA) (4.4L AJV8 engine only) VIN: 5A000360 to 6A402253
CONDITION SUMMARY:
TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT FROM 2ND TO 1ST GEAR IS HARSH
Situation: A customer may report a concern that the gearshift is harsh and results in a thump or
bump when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 1st gear. This condition occurs when the throttle is
applied following a deceleration where the vehicle is slowing to a near stop. This condition can be
intermittent and can vary depending upon the amount of throttle that is applied.
An automatic transmission software calibration issue may be the cause.
NOTE: Service Action B036 – Tune Updates and Enhancement Repairs may apply and
resolve this concern. DDW must be first checked to determine which vehicles within the
affected VIN range of this bulletin require B036 to be completed in lieu of this bulletin.
This bulletin is not to be completed or claimed if B036 is completed and claimed.
Refer to the latest issue of Technical Service Bulletin SB036 as applicable.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, and B036 does not apply, verify the condition and
refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to update the control module software.

How's that for to much Information?

I don't know exactly how they got around the disclaimer about the B036 software retune, but they did and it seems fine now.
