I have a 2005 V6 LR3 and it's time to replace the rotors and pads
Think i've down quite well getting to 41K before needing them.

My problem is I seem to be getting conflicting info, some places say the rotors are the same on the V6 and the V8 then others say, fit V8 only.

I suspect they are the same since both version are nearly the same weight and i cant see landrover spending time developing different brake systems for the V6 which is only available in the North American market.

How ever to be sure can any one confirm this one what or another?

Rotor are in fact different front and rear. In front, V6 and ROW diesel has 12.5 dia, while V8 has 13.3 dia rotor. This is listed in the sales brochure, and in the Land Rover Parts Catalog. I've had my guys sell the wrong stuff before, so yes, it does not make things easy.

As the last poster indicated, the V6 and the V8 use different size roters. They are not the same. They are different.

different, not the same, AND different. You're being a little ambiguous schafari? Are they the same or not?

Thanks for the info guys
the reason I was confused was I had pulled down EBC's 2007 USA/Canada Automotive Information Excel file and it gave the same part number (GD1339) for the 4.0 V6 as the 4.4 V8 for there dimpled and slotted rotors on 05 and up LR3's, it also list them both as having 13.3in front rotors.
So thanks for saving me from getting the wrong parts and getting everything stripped down before I knew there was an issue.

I just put the EBC sport rotors on our GX470. Be advised that these are aggressive rotors, and make a distinct whirring sound when you apply the brakes (dimple/slots). EBC even includes a rearview mirror sign to remind your wife that the noise is "normal".

The rotors combined with Hawk SUV/HPS pads made a huge improvement in bite, modulation and feel.

Emailed EBC yesterday to see what they have to say about why there documents show the V6 as having the same rotors as the V8 and will post the details when they get back to me.
bgsntth I used EBC rotors before had them on a modified Audi A4 1.8T and would have had them on my Audi S4 as well be they didn't make them for the car at the time.
and your right about the extra noise.
