voided warranty?

I had a satellite radio hardwired into my LR3. Will Land Rover want to void my warranty?

Was told by my dealer that anything that you install that requires modification (cutting, splicing, etc) of the wiring harness will void warranty.

If that is the case, it would only void the warranty for the systems on that wiring harness. If your transfer case failed, for example, that would still be under warranty. I believe the law is such that modifications can only void warranties on specific items that failed because of the modification.

That would make sense to me. The issue is making sure that the wiring in question isn't somehow related to the control systems for other parts that might need to be repaired.
