I'm looking to get a set of 18" wheels for A/T tires and use the OE 19" wheels for winter tires. I found a place that sells repaired wheels at pretty reasonable prices. Are these worth considering? I'm sure wheels that just had cosmetic damage are fine, but how would you know if they were structurally damaged?

Here is the damaged/repaired wheel retailer: http://www.wheelcollision.com/landrover3.htm

you can do pretty good on ebay though.

...these aren't exactly great prices, Paul. I think if you're patient enough and try all the avenues, a better deal will present itself. Do you really care what the rims look like? Do they have to be LR rims? ...or do you just want something that fits?

Houm, being a new HSE with about 1000 miles on it, I do want to stay with LR wheels, but I don't care if they are 5-spoke, 10-spoke, etc.

The LR wheels have built in bead locking features that non-OEM wheels don't have. They are noticeably better at preventing a tire from rolling off the bead when aired down than your standard steel rims for example. They are also harder to mount tires onto because of this. Just ask any tire shop :)

You are correct Nathan. Of course, we're talking about tires that are really really aired down. I don't think I'll ever air down below 25 psi, knowing what I have those Coopers mouted on. I bought some ugly-ass chrome rims...but only paid $70 for 'em!
