what year to look for

I've been wanting a Land Rover Discovery and i've seen some for sale but i was curious what year(s) to look for. I've seen on some boards-may have been this one- to steer clear of Discovery 2's because their more prone to things going wrong. I would like Disco 1 or 2 and was curious as to what your opinions may be. I know just like any other vehicle you have to maintain it but assuming that it is takin care of what year should i be lookin for?

1. How much do you want to spend?

1. I would like to spend under 10,000

2. sometimes me and a few buddies will go drive trails but nothin major, very rarely do we have to put it in 4wd

Are your going to want to put bigger rims (20"+)

For 10k you can get into an 04 Disco or a real nice 02 RR. If going Disco I would go with the 04 then... locking center diff, 4.6 liter engine (more power), very comfortable drive.

Almost all of the glitches from the D2's have been worked out.
