I'm giving them my 05 LR HSE ($14K) and $39,000 for a $57,300 vehicle. They will be covering tax, tag, title, so that sounds like it's in the ballpark.

Yeah the "we don't budge" is a common LR dealer theme. all the sales people must attend a national seminar to say this. But once I started pitting three of the dealerships (that weren't owned by the same group) against each other I finally got a decent discount. It just comes down to who wants to sell a LR4.

We just bought ours in late March and there was no negotiating. LR4's in the PNW are in short supply and I wanted one with every option which was nearly impossible to find. I had been looking for over 6 months and our local dealer called and said they had a fully loaded, including HD Package which was mandatory inbound. The wait was only 1 month vs 4 months if I ordered one. So, I jumped on it and haven't looked back. Its been a great vehicle. Can't wait to get it offroad. :)

Jeez. . .I'm not sure if I have a dim salesman or whether he's just ******. I finally get the actual sticker on the car and it's for a $56,225 vehicle, not a $57K car. I had offered "$35,000 finance, $4,000 cash and title to my car" to them. He replies back yesterday that they will lower the price because of the difference in the $57K and $56K price. Get this, I now owe them "$37,225 finance, $4,000 cash and my car." I guess he didn't get the point that I'm aware of taxes, tags, etc., and I expected that to be a part of my firm offer. I might have to do a little more shopping

Well don't feel bad. I walked in with 35K CASH, and my own financing for the balance, and still couldn't get the first two dealerships to budge more than $800 off sticker. Can you believe that? I finally found a LR dealership which realized it had an easy sale and worked with me and made me extremely happy. So don't give up jptruck - be diligent. It will pay off.

After a bit of he said, she said, we finally struck a deal. The vehicle price is now $52,200 and they threw in a sliding roof rack. I spoke to a few dealerships (shopping around), and it seems that LR subsidizes one car a month for a lot of these guys. I got the same price from another dealer, but the car sold before we could make a deal. Anyway, seems like I got as good as I'll get.

Yep - you hit the "magic" LR number for a 57K LR4. That's what I got my LR4 for exactly. Sticker was 57K on mine too. Hopefully this info will help future owners.

For me, demanding the HDP option killed my leverage. I got my car (yesterday!) for @ 3k under msrp...or about 1,800 more than you got yours. My msrp was also about 57 as well. Oh well, i got the car I wanted...but I certainly paid for being inflexible on my color/option choices...or for being a crappy negotiator....

I'm surprised they gave you any discount at all. HDP is pretty rare. Forgot to mention that they are offering .9% financing. My total interest for 4 years of payments is $720. It's just silly not to finance.

Picked up the new ride today. I'm pretty impressed with all the changes from 05 to 12. I'll write something up after a few days in it.
