Have had my 2010 LR4 for one week and I'm bothered by a very visible nighttime glare problem on the front windshield - streetlights, oncoming headlights, etc. appear "fuzzy". When I look closely at it what I am actually seeing is the light reflecting off the squiggly wires imbedded in the glass. It is really noticeable, to the point of being a major distraction. It is REALLY noticeable when it is raining or when I use the WW, but only in the nighttime. I've thoroughly cleaned the windows inside and out; it is definitely reflections off the wavy wires. Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone brought it to the attention of LR?

If you live in a northern climate you will be thankful when you get to use this defrost feature. You will get used to the lines.

It is annoying but i have gotten used to it.

Agreed. I was part of the original post complaining and have gotten used to the glare. Still distracting, but not as much as when we first bought the vehicle.

Windshield issue tough "getting used to"

Thanks for all the replies and previous threads - I'm disheartened to hear that so many others are having the same problem. Anybody had this resolved? As in, has Land Rover agreed to replace it with a non-wired windshield? I have to be honest, I'm not real happy about merely "getting used to it" when such an annoying issue is on a $60K car. Granted my location (Florida = lots of rainy nights = major visibility issue, and the de-icing feature is pretty much worthless to me) makes this an especially irritating problem just for me. But I was somewhat put-off by my dealer's response of "NEVER heard of this" when in fact I asked another customer if he noticed it and he said he reported the same issue just last month.

And if this wasn't bad enough, today I went to start my LR4 - pressed the button, and nothing! It is being flat-bedded to the dealer tomorrow (am putting up another post about this). Needless to say right now I'm really unhappy with my decision to buy a Land Rover.

If the lines do indeed bother you that much perhaps you have much better vision and should be thankful. All joking aside, if you drive the vehicle a few times you will get used to this. The defrost windshield is a premium feature and in northern climates used frequently. You may not have a use for it down south but its there anyway. I'm not even sure if LR makes a USA spec non striped windshield.

They don't make one and after market non-wired ones are hard to find. I've talked to another LR4 owner who had the same problem and he . . . rather, a rock hit his window and he replaced it with an after market non-wired one and loves it. I know it is a nice feature for northerners but Acura and most of the others offer the same de-icing windshield without the visible lines.
