Anyone running 20" BFG KO2 without mods? And, there's a new BFG 20" tire option.

I will get the tire mounted then try to fit the tire, fully inflated, into the spare tire area with the LR tow hitch on.

You can use your GAP tool to disable TPMS for the spare, if you need to let some air out.

255/60/19 (31“ diameter) was a squeeze into the spare compartment. Actually the first time I threw it up there i couldn’t get it in without deflating it.

I think your hitch is going to be in the way. Your tire is also a 31” tire.

would also be interested to know if anyone experiences any rubbing with the 275/55/20 BF KO2's on the stock 19" wheels.. their diameter is 31.9", may be a bit too big to avoid rub

Perfect Fit fully inflated and trailer hitch fits - Toyo Open Country III Size 255/55R20. I will be ordering 4 new tires to go along with the spare.

I did have to remove the hitch to raise the tire up. I did not have to deflate tire to mount it in the spare tire area. Needed a little guidance to initially maneuver around heat shields, but once it was past the edge of the heat shield the tire raised straight up. The last couple of cranks seemed to take a little more effort since the fit is snug.

I just came upon someone with the BFG's on in person, in this size but on an aftermarket wheel. They said there was a little cutting of the inside well trim (maybe drivers side only) to avoid rubbing but no grinding of the frame horn. There were some rub marks that had removed some paint on the horn, so there must've been a little rubbing there whether or not they knew it. They weren't knowledgable about this and had to ask their mechanic, so it's not entirely the confident answer I was looking for. So, I still don't have anyone that's put these on without any mods and either had no rubbing, or lived with it. If it was just rubbing a full lock, that feels like something I could potentially live with by avoiding full lock turning.

This is the video that helped me feel comfortable with 31 inch tires without Johnson Rods. I know your looking for an objective definitive answer on 32's (without Johnson Rods), which I was too, but could not find one.

Johnson Rods are not the limitation in tire size. Turning radius and the frame horns is what limits the tire size, and Johnson Rods, if anything, only make that problem worse.

Any updates on the 275/55/20 KO2's? I'm looking to go that way as well - the RPM (Revolutions per mile) of the 275/55R20 is 652 compared to the 255/55R19 - 692 so should only be a couple of MPH difference on the speedo. Michelin LTX 255/55R19 over diameter is 29.9" vs the BFG 275/55R20 of 31.8". I have full size spare and not sure if there's a whole lot of room left over for a 31.8". Been looking at the Terafirma swing out LR3/4 tire carrier - that would be a solution for the larger spare. Just checked the tire size for a 2016 LUX - 255/50R20 Michelin LTX: RPM is 687 tire is 30.2" so maybe a 275/55R20 31.8 BFG KO may fit both under the wheel well as spare carrier. I'll need to crawl under and take look at exactly how much room is around my 255/55R19 spare.

I'm getting the same tires and size installed next week. Rather than taking the hitch on/off to get it back in the original location, I'm planning on removing the heat shields and just using some exhaust wrap on the pipes near the tire.

I did a similar thing on my RRS when I fit bigger tires and I never noticed any issues.
