A Land Rover dealer agreed to sell me the vehicle for four thousand less than the asking 24k with 22k on the clock , but it won't be "certified". Is it worth paying extra to get it certified or is this a bunch of BS? The vehicle still has close to 30k left on the bumper to bumper or x amount of months, so everything should still be covered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Certified just means they inspect a bunch of crap, right? So basically they want $4000 just to call it CPO? Why don't you make a counter-offer; give them $1000 and offer them $21,000. Or ask for an extended warranty at $24,000...

if certified costs only 2k, gets you more than 2 years after the warranty expires and you plan to keep more than a bit more than the factory coverage, you win. Repairs are very costly, very much so.

How does the warranty work? I know there is a $100 detuctable for each visit, does the warranty kick in after the four year 50k is up , and how long is it good for? How is the reliability of your LR3 compared to your Audi experience? I have had nothing but Audi's and VW's which have their own issues.

Hang on, so you can get it for 20k with 22k miles? From a dealer?? From what I remember certified gets you a couple extra years and 75k miles ( I think). Something is screwy here since you can wait a couple years, and get a 100k warranty for 4k.

I'll contact the service department of my local dealer and see what they say. Thanks again.

I'm sorry I didn't present that properly. The dealer was asking 28k, I told them I would give them 24k, they said they would sell it to me for 24k but without the extended warranty.
I passed that deal up after my neighbor told me the horror story he went through with this particular dealer.
I'm still on the hunt for an 06, hopefully next time I post I'll have one. Cheers!
