Painted wheel arches are not for me. They will look a lot more sorry after some off-roading as opposed to any fading the sun might offer the black plastic ones. No thanks. They also make the vehicle look much less functional and more pedestrian.

The 09 comes with paint matched bumpers and wheel arches, new door handle colors, clear side markers, and 19"s standard. All models are HSE, and the top model is HSE LUX (Luxury.) You'll find the LR3 is in the middle of an interior redesign, and will be dubbed the LR4 shortly. Same exterior body, but redesigned interior. The painted arches and bumpers have had complaints in the UK for scratching easily, but dealers have addressed complaints pretty quickly. I personally like the fluid look of the matched paint, but dislike the lack of functionality for offroading. Then again, the percentage of us who purchase these vehicles for what they were truly intended for is generally smaller than the soccer moms etc, who purchase a "luxury SUV." Just my two cents...

09 comes as std with 'ugly' painted trim, 19" alloys, and no roof rails :stupid:

Pictures of an 09 at my local stealership below:

Interior wood looked like self adhesive fake wood trim - ***!

If they are going to paint the wfeel arches they need to paint the whole rear bumper as well as the rockers it looks unfinished the lack of 18" wheels sucks as well. glad I have my 05!

One thing to keep in mind, the 09 is lacking complimentary maintenance as well. That offering apparently ended with the 08 D3s for now.. At least this is what I was told recently.

Correct - but some dealers will 'negotiate' a maint package into the deal in order to offset the extra cost - pays to ask

It looks like a smaller RRS with all the color matched parts. It almost seems like LR is trying to take the LR3 in a more civilized direction...

I like the black plastic parts, just wish they didn't fade so easily.

Use a UV resistant sealant on the black plastic to keep them looking good.

I've found this one works the best.

I think it shows that LR is focusing on the typical LR3 buyer that I see - i.e. Affluent Starbucks cruisers or soccer moms/dads who can't stretch for a RRS.

Pretty sure that one good trip through the woods/brush would make the new paint look very sorry for itself.
