What Can I Expect From A Rover ?

I have been told that most Discovery II's have pretty unreliable engines. A mechanic friend of mine theorized that the engine runs a little too hot, and recommends that you place an additive in your coolant called Red something. Also, just like with any car, you can get a lemon. What is the...

    Wash After Service?

It is a little cheaper on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/ARB-10000010-Recovery-General-Accessories/dp/B004P91FCO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319560722&sr=8-1

O2 Sensor -> Only Running on 4 Cylinders

My 1995 Range Rover Classic LWB 4.2 has been struggling recently. It has been running rough. I saw code 45, which is for the O2 sensors. So I replaced the sensors and then later that day the engine light came on. Code 44 this time. After messing around in the engine, I finally realized that...

Advanced Auto Parts has 5-pack of 16oz Seafoam Motor Treatment for Gas and Diesel Engines for $34.95 - $10 with coupon code A123 = $24.95 + free store pick-up. I think that is the cheapest I have seen for Seafoam. Good stuff...

    2004 Discovery 4.6 Engine

The fuel pump is located in the tank, under the rear cargo floor. Begin by removing the six phillips screws in the plastic trim at the base of the rear door. Set the trim aside, and pull up the carpet and insulating pad. The corner trim may need to be pried upward to allow access to unseat the...

    Which code reader to buy?

I bought this one for my father's disco and it works well. Does not do all the fancy stuff you are talking about. I am pretty sure it works on a LR3, but you would have to check: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000KID31K

Range Rover Classic Door Lock Problem

I just noticed my passenger door is having some locking issues. When I go to open the door, the lock goes down just a quarter of an inch and the door doesn't open! It is slightly easier to open from the inside, but sometimes I have to manually hold the door lock up to open the door. It is...

OBDII Code Reader for Father's Disco

I think I am going to get the 3130. Thanks for the information. My dad isn't really mechanical, but he has given me a lot over the years so I don't mind spending a little on him. This is the one I am getting: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000KID31K/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1291839784&sr=8-1

    Things to improve MPG?

I checked the tires and run 91 octane, the wires look new (steam cleaned so I don't know how new). I have new plugs coming. How do you do an induction cleaning? You mean new air filter and clean MAF? I haven't replaced the filter, but I checked today again and got 12.9 mpg.
