Hi guys,

Been searching, think I have enough information, but just wanted to confirm.

In order to access the adaptive cruise radar module, I need to take off the bumper bar right? Is there anyway the module can be accessed and replaced without pulling off the front?

Just trying to figure out if I tackle it myself or send to the shop. I know the module I need to get, I'm handy on the tools, just very "time poor" atm. I do not have all day to be swapping something out atm....but if I can do it on my own in a few hours - I'll do it.

Seen range rover videos - not for discovery Lr4 though - but looks like module it is in tight behind the front bumper, but has securing bolts facing outward towards bumper. From what I can tell - no access withouth taking off the bumper?

Love some advice here please!!!

Cheers,
Shanan

Removing the bumper is a pretty easy job - PowerfulUK have a great step-by-step video showing how it's done. Once the bumper is off, you have easy access to he adaptive cruise radar.

Curious - what happened to your adaptive cruise? I have that option as well, but it wasn’t very popular so I don’t see much info about it. I was looking into ways to relocate it so that a winch could be mounted. Didn’t get very far.

I looked at raising it vertically by ~1/4 inch to allow me to mount my winch, but opted against it -- the way it's mounted makes it look like position precision is important.

1/4” - that’s pretty close. I would give that a try. On other vehicles it seems the position of the module is not that important. I’ve seen winch kits for other trucks that give you a bracket to completely relocate the module to another spot. No idea if it needs to be recalibrated or anything though.
