Oversize tires for 2020 Defender
Pls correct me if I am wrong as I have never owned a LR3 (I have a 2012 LR4 with 19 wheels) but didn’t it come with 18 wheels and a 7700 capacity. Furthermore , doesn’t the p300 with std 18 wheels have the same towing capacity as the p400 with 19 or larger wheels? I thought the bigger wheels...- bromhead

I dont have a problem with modifying a vehicle, I just question why you put lower profile tires with 20 inch wheels on such a capable truck . And I get the idea of mods if you want to fit oversize tires and need to lift a vehicle, but required to swap out calipers to simply avoid 19 or 20 tires...- bromhead

I realize that perhaps I get too carried away with this but to me the tire size really comes off as a clear indication that Land Rover is really not focused in making what I would call a true off road vehicle. Oversize tires for 2020 Defender
Curious what oversize tire options there are for the new defender. I assume the bigger engine versions require 19 or bigger wheels due to the brake calipers. Are there 18 in options like there are for the LR4? And how big can we go. Outside magazine hints at 35’s with a bit of a mod....- bromhead

Just made a new key fob with gap tool, couldn’t have been easier . Just ordered a blank metal key and will take it to a locksmith. Thanks for all the help! Thanks for saving me $550 bucks! -
18’ wheel suggestions for my black 2010 LR4
Thanks, yeah I get that. I think the comps weigh 29 vs 39 lbs for the tuff ants. Any downsize to having ten extra lbs on each wheel and on the 5th wheel carrier under the vehicle. Being steel I assume means they are more durable and easier to fix, was curious to an any specific negatives -

LR4 19s, Load Ratings and the Cooper Zeon vs Wrangler Adventure
I have the duratracs and have been happy with them, although they seem to have worn a little quicker than expected. Isn't the load factor the issue with the wrangler's? I am on the fence on buying new duratracs or biting the bullet and getting 18 in wheels with bfg's....alot of money for only... -

In the instructions they talk about hooking up the battery to something to keep the voltage stable (or something like that), did everyone do this or just have the car run idle on its own? -

I will call around. Out of curiosity, where did you get the 300 quote , mine was from Land Rover carlsbad (San Diego) In regards to cloned, yeah I get that, I was just being lazy with my words. Does anyone have direct experience using the tool to generate a new key? -

Thanks for all of the input I am on the fence, I really would not want to be in the middle of the Mojave and have an issue with a cloned fob.....but paying six hundred bucks for a new key has me feeling physically ill. :). -

31s on an LR4 without lift Rods??
I have the 255/55/19 GY duratecs and have been quite happy with them except that they seem to wear quickly. I continue to be on the fence about going to 18in wheels (and 265/65/18 bfg AT)...2k or so for 5 new wheels, having to deal with a partially deflated spare + 200 or so for an air... -

I lost the spare set so while the battery may be dead, that’s not really the most pressing issue :) I recently got the gap tool, but haven’t even used it yet. Tell me about making fobs and what to buy ! Any other suggestions for the tool would be welcome. I planned to just use it to raise... -

any idea how much these tires weigh compared to the Comp's? They look good. Looking at the johnson rod website, they seem to imply that the largest tires a lr4 can take, before some cutting is a 265/65/18 and that they would require a lift to fit anyway. Is that accurate? Would these tires fit... -
