the auto shift light in the center console of my 2000 land rover discovery II Wont blink out on third gear yet wont come on in drive. Like comes on correctly in all other gears. 3rd gear light on continuosly. As far as disco, not affecting the actual gear shifting. -

Okay, new battery and post put on, still not cranking. gauges on radio working, attempted to crank and it does nothing. Smelled a weird burning smell, unsure where from other in the front compartment. Any ideas?? -

not to throw gas on the fire, but I have a 2000 series discovery II and I had simliar issue and it was drivers side, billowing steam, etc it was head gasket. I had nothing in oil either. heres an albeit dumb question 2000 landrover discovery II when I go to crank it. It wont crank. Would you say the battery has discharged so low that it wont crank?? Lights and accessories come on, but wont crank. -
