I recently took my Land Rover into the shop 4 times for the battery not holding a charge. They replaced the battery 3 times and could still not find the solution, even after hooking it up to the diagnostic computer. I asked if it might be the alternator and they said it was not. So I decided to look around the SEVERAL fuses inside the hood and under the steering wheel. I noticed the alternator fuse had gone bad. We replaced it, jump started it and let it run for around a half hour. Restarted just fine. Then let it sit for several hours and it restarted just fine. Is it really possible that a silly 4.oo fuse was the root of my problem? If so, why couldn't the auto shop (granted not a land rover dealership) find it? Or, could there be another issue that is brewing and might need to get a new alternator eventually even though the fuse was replaced?
