2000 Disco sump/tranny plugs?

So my service engine soon light comes on the other day. Checked all fluids and only one low was engine oil. Went underneath car to find oil leak and I found two rubber seals partially blown out of what appears to be where the sump pan mates with the transmission. It looks like a visual window for the flywheel, atleast thats whats you see when the plugs aren't installed. Reinstalled plugs and as soon as I started the motor they blew back out. Any idea what these are and what could be causing them to blow?

Could be the rubber is getting old and oily. If oil is coming out of them, then you may need a new rear main seal.
