Hey there guys i just wanna say thanks alot for all the past help (especially joey)

Here's the ordeal im going through i have a 2001 disco se7 have had it for two years, a month after i got it the amber service engine soon light has been on and everything i do doesnt turn it off or after i erase the codes from the computer it comes back on. for the past 7 months if i keep the acceleration at 2000rpms the service engine (light) begins to flash and during the duration of its flashing i cannot accelerate properly. have a hard time going up hills, cannot pick-up speed until it stops flashing, and ever since this started if i attempt to step on the gas from a complete stop it is as if the engine is missing or and i have had to manualy release the gas pedal while driving (like changing gears in a manual) to pick up speed and prevent the engine from cutting out on me.

Could this be a timing belt issue? if not what else could it be??

Any help is always appreciated

Well, first of all you "NEVER" drive with a flashing check engine light, second, Rovers don't have timing belts.
Do you know a good Rover, if so I would call him today before you totally ruin that engine, if not, PM me your tele number with all the exact fault code numbers and what you have done or changed so far.
