H7 has better cold cranking amps than the H8 but the H8 has more reserve. Being in Virginia I wouldn't be concerned with cold cranking amps. All you need to know is that a H8 will crank a LR4 to life at -35.

Thanks, I live in CO and often enjoy the ski resorts. Don't think we get that cold often.
