Tell me plus or minus for terrafirma rear carrier or tactical 4x4 bumper. I get one is armor and the other is not and that one is 160lbs and the other is more light weight.

Do you have one and wish you had the other? give me some practical feedback.

$2500 difference.

I like the full size steel bumper. It is heavier and rusts but find it sturdy and I think in that sense an improvement. I have the Kymar but I think that is basically the same as the Tactical 4X4.

Too bad they do not make for LR4. Seems like good gear. So have you found that you would have damaged your stock bumper if you did not have full metal one?

I have been disappointed with Terra Firma's powder coating on products. I've got a few items from them and the coating is flaking off in less than two years. If you are in the south west, probably won't be an issue. Up in the rust belt it is very frustrating.

My truck is a 2010 LR4 - perhaps you could contact Kymar directly if you are interested? I bought mine in 2014 and I imagine the LR3 and LR4 bumpers are basically the same (I cannot remember what I did exactly back then...but did reach out to them in Australia - they were great). I am really happy with the bumper, which has a couple nifty things about it, although if I were to design a build a bumper from scratch (which I am NOT competent enough to do alone), there would be something like a hundred things I would differently.

So have you found that you would have damaged your stock bumper if you did not have full metal one?

Actually...I would have on a couple of occasions.

It is impossible to know exactly what would have happened since the plastic bumper could have just bounced back (although some damage to the front bumper required some professional body work to make it look right).

Also, the steel / heavy bumper is way more helpful and sturdy to work when standing on, like when climbing up the roof rack or standing on the bumper and doing stuff on the roof rack. I think I broke my top tail light (or third brake light or whatever it is called) because I had used that plastic as a step on occasion (so yet another dumb thing I did) and that was before I had the steel bumper on and could jump up and down from the roof. That could also damage the plastic bumper (I imagine).

Finally, the Kymar has Hi-Lift Jack points which are super helpful (and I have used a couple times although I currently don't have my Hi-Lift).
