Overheating issue! LR4 2016 SCV6

The only issue I've seen that might be motor mount related is one side of the engine is closer to the fender than the other. I couldn't remove the rubber protection piece that goes along the valve cover/head on the passenger side for the life of me. I didn't go agro on it because I didn't want to go through the pain to put it back. If I did remove the rubber cover I think I'd need to jack one side of the engine up to try to rotate it to the other side to gain space.

For sure, we’ve seen reports of bad motor mounts causing the fan to hit the shroud/brush guard, and that certainly might be the cause of the overheating. But, personally, I would bleed the system and probably replace the t-stat before I drove the car anymore. The heads on these cars seem to warp awfully fast from overheating.

People seem to have a hard time getting the coolant systems bled properly if they don’t use a vacuum filler. There is a procedure for manual bleed and it works (posted on these forums), but you have to follow it completely - including raising the reservoir a couple of inches to get the fill higher than the highest bleed point and running the heaters to get that coolant running all the way back.

The correct repair is to replace the motor mounts. That is a major ordeal.
Or, you can remove that brush looking section that is in the fan shroud. It just snaps in.

I agree here. I came to realize worn motor mounts cause more downstream than I thought.
