We bought an LR3 from local dealer (higher price than out of area dealer) because of promise of great service, etc. Well so much for the promise - car failed to start this morning (250 miles). Called dealer - "we can't call LR you need to". So I called LR - what a joke! After wasiting almost 15 minutes I talked with a person. The sent a tow company out that had no idea how to load the thing on the flat bed. At least he didn't try. I get a voice message they are sending another company out. Finally get to dealer - fuel pump in tank not working. They need to replace tank and fuel pump.

This second problem (first was sun roof didn't close) - so much for LR care service. There is a reason that LR is last for reliability and their response/way they handle problems is just as bad - I am sorry I bought this thing and wil dispose of it on Friday.

Great concept but poorly exicuted and dealer/importer support is so poor.

jayt,

I've been an owner and a message board inhabiter for over a year. What I can conclude is that everyone's experience is unique. I'm sorry yours has not gone well.

Best of luck

Sorry about your bad experience.

Do note Land Rover just uses various local tow services... and, as such, you'll get different levels of service. And yes, the process is for you to call "Land Rover Assistance" if you want to use their included tow service. (All this BS should have been explained to you at delivery.)

sniff sniff - boo hoo my Land Rover is a piece of crap and I'm selling it... :)

I've "sold" my LR3 10 times if i've done it once. Fuel pump and a sun roof... amateur!

No motor in seat
10 software versions
6 compressors
leaking roof
downhill stahl
8 mpg
fuel neck
gas tank
recalls
ripped seats
broken glass
radio dies
nav freezes
1st one was a lemon
dealer a lying piece of sh*t that can't fix crap
100 hours on phone with LRNA

But it's a great truck so whatcha gonna do? Quiet down and drive it a little longer. You already lost 10k no hurry to sell now. Welcome to the club sucker ;)

HA ha! I don't know who's crazier, Jayt for threatening to sell with just two problems or askewed for keeping his with hundreds! If you ask me, it's a good thing your pump went out after only 250 miles. Now you will have...maybe a thousand whole miles of worry free driving before it goes again! ;)

22K Miles - No Real Issues (knock on wood). Except - When the Range says "0", dont drive 10 more miles... I had to walk a 1/10 mile (luckily) in 95 degree heat and then carry a gallon of PREMIUM (Hey...I got standards) back UPHILL.

i spent a fair bit of time reading the "problems" of the LR3 and can say that at the least it is rock solid compared to the big Rover. most of the problems seem to be software problems that have been addressed to some extent. the real dogs were pretty restricted in numbers imo.
