My 95 Disco won't shift into 4-low. I have not had the vehicle long and just got finished with my first round of off-road mods (sliders, OME suspension, RTE rear links, 235/85 tires, etc).
What really sux is that I am all dressed up and no where to go. I can't get it into 4-low. The last time I 'tested' the 4-low was a couple months ago.

Any suggestions?

Same thing just happened to my 96 Disco this weekend at Hollister Hills, CA

Rover tech from Redwood City Landrover was on had to diagnose problem

Solenoid burnt out from a relay gone mad

Solenoid acts as a shift interlock mechanism, which I believe is actually a rod at end of solenoid that wedges between low and high range gear sets. Applying brake pressure when in tranny is in neutral sends voltage from relay to solenoid, which then allows shift from high to low range.

Look into replacing relay that controls the solenoid in question
