99 disco right SLS stuck way up help

Hi,

Went offroading last night in our 1999 Disco series 2. Have the truck in low and raised the rear end using the SLS button for more clearance. The right rear will not lower. Any thoughts about what could be malfunctioning? Thanks.

Chuck,
Some sort of a pickle you got your self into.
Crawl in under the truck on the r/r side, look where the height sensor hooks to the trailing arm, and while running unhook the height sensor and move it down slowly and you should get it to drop down. Remember to do it slowly, this should correct the problem, if not get back to me.

Thanks for the tip. I got under the rover and found that the plastic arm for the height sensor had snapped in half. I did move the sensor slowly and it did come back down. The left side must be confused because now that side is really low, like a "low rider." So I guess the first step is to get a new plastic arm part and install that. After that is done I wonder how to "recalibrate" left to right, or will the rover do that by itself?

If you want to get creative, get a little piecs of metal or plastic and make a new piece, drill two holes and you are done.
Once you do that start the truck, drive it around the block and it should reset itself, if no try raising it and then lowering it and it should level out.

Here is the broken part in question. You can see that the plastic arm snapped at the sensor.

Found the part online for $59. Sold as complete assembly (sensor+plastic arm)

Part number on the sensor is RQH 100030 for future reference.

So, you broke the switch, no options, got to buy it as a complete assembly, I am pretty sure.
If you ever want to be able to adjust the height of the rear suspension by as much as 2"s these are a fun addition from RTE.

I don't understand what those gadgets do and where they fit into the suspension system....

I tried to order this part online...would not be in stock for two weeks so I'm off to the dealer to pay twice the online price....but the wife needs the car back on the road!

Chuck,
That part I showed use is an adjustable extension so if you want to put a lift in the fron you can adjust the rear to match. For somereson I thought you had a lift, OH WELL
Let me know if you have any problems after installing the new switch.

That is an interesting accessory. Wife and I were just talking about first upgrades. A front lift might be fun along with some bigger tires.

Have you looked at the OME section of Expedition Exchange. lots of good information on lifts.
How much of a lift are you thinking about, how about tires, got any size picked out yet?
