Hello -
I am new to the landrover family; recently aquiring a previously owned 2010 S.Black LR4 HSE.
I am loving this new this vehicle. Even going on a small off road excursion in the Squamish Valley,British Columbia,Canada, tomorrow.
Truly excited.

As always, once the purchase settles and time allows your own personal observation of the vehicle to occur - I have found a few things. With that said I am more excited at what it can do as opposed to dwelling on a few items that need attention.

What has happened so far is:

1) Wet passenger footwell carpet - and the dreaded sunroof drainage drip/pour through the lights on the ceiling scenario. -
(after a heavy rain) Solution : made an appointment with the drainage specialist. The specialist is only available at the dealership on Wednesdays, and this Wednesday being NEW YEARS, the fellow will not be available until Jan 8. (Please don't rain..... British Columbia- haha)

2) Doors won't look via smart key. Desc: after having the doors open for a while I closed them all and pressed the lock button- heard the audible 2 honk , which I have learnt means that one of the doors perhaps is not closed. Opened every door and ensured closer. Walked away and pressed the doors lock button on the smart key - again, hear the audible honk and check the doors. Not locked.
Went around the vehicle and opened/closed every door including the bonnet. Waited 10 minutes and walked away pressing the smart key. FINALLY - the honk was gone and saw the lights flash twice. Doors locked. Perhaps it was a sensor? A behaviour?

Happy holidays to all. Looking forward to playing with the new toy!!!!

Regards,

If you walk back up to the vehicle without the smart-key in your pocket are the doors locked or unlocked. If you have the key in your pocket you don't have to hit the button the doors will unlock automatically.

UPDATE:

Today I was able to take the truck to the dealer here to see about servicing and see the drainage specialist. Also I was inquiring about the last servicing - as this was a previously owned vehicle and at 78,000 km.
The fellow had called and said that it was fixed and it was a leak in the sunroof ; wasn't sure if it was drain related as that was not mentioned. So we will see. The dealer is ordering new carpets for the passenger side floor - all covered under warranty.
Serving is not required until May - I will look up to see how extensive the next major servicing will be. Perhaps it's an 80,000. Km one?

So far loving this truck.

Went camping Jan 1-4 and was easily able to sleep in the back!

STILL-ONE - I figured it out. The doors had not been properly closed. The smart key and I are friends now.

Cheers
