ABS Pump Not working

I have a 1996 range Rover 4.6 HSE . I am experiencing problems with the ABS system.
The pump is not working. Now before I go out and buy a new pump ($2,000!) has anyone got any suggestions as to what I should check first?

I am guessing you have check the fuse.
