My 98 Range Rover HSE has a problem with the ac. The left side blows cold when started up, but the right side blows hot air and the dreaded book! sign shows up on the right side of the LCD readout. I tried switching a couple of the relays that are in the box under the hood labeled AC and the problem remains the same. I hope this is something simple. Could it be a fuse problem? I haven't even looked in the passenger side fuse box yet.

Hi, sounds like the Blend motors are stuck or broken? They are conectef to the Hevac unit, you will have to hook up your car to read the fault codes, poss somebodyin the forum can assist?.. Mine did the same, but sorted themselves out ... ? Dont know how tho. P

Sorted themselves out? That would be great! I am in central USA.. Does the Range Rover use the code reader that the neighborhood Autozone parts dealers have? I hope so..

The 98 will be OBDII compliant, but not all codes will be exactly as described.

OK I'll get the codes and post them up here. Thanks!

Edit: The guy at Autozone read the codes and there were no fault codes.

You will not get codes for a blend motor... only engine/trans/ABS codes.
