I sold my LR4 back on May 24th and picked up a Lexus GX550 Overtrail on June 7th.

I have to say.....this GX550 is pretty darn nice. I had LR4 PTSD and I went crazy and bought an extended warranty for 3 more years and also pre-paid all maintenance for 6 years/75,000 miles. I'll take the hit this year and never drop another dollar on repairs & maintenance.

Need to make some time to get off road and see what it can do.

The Toyota dealer I've got my reservation at has a lifetime drivetrain warranty. I'm sure there's some catch.

I’ve started seeing a lot of Grenadiers around Nashville in recent weeks. Most are the standard suv, but I saw the truck version the other day that was really cool. I think the dealer that has Lotus, Aston, Bentley, Maserati must be affiliated somehow because I’ve seen some on the lot; the closest official dealer is Atlanta.

Just as an extra dealer incentive? That's pretty cool whatever the reason. Of course when your blinker fluid goes bad and causes a driveline clunk, it will somehow not be covered as very clearly stated under subsection K.2.h.zz.iii.

I've seen a few Grenadiers. The smurf blue actually looks really cool and stands out when it's going down the road. I have yet to see a new Land Cruiser. I keep stopping by the local Toyota dealership hoping to see one.

Yeah. Every Toyota they sell comes with a lifetime drivetrain warranty for the original owner. My guess is they figure most people don't own a car much longer than 5 to 6 years, and if anyone does, it's a Toyota they're putting the warranty on.

I was on the wait list for the new GX and was real disappointed about how plasticky the GX felt when I finally had the opportunity to sit in one and explore. This and the V6TT recall/stop sale has me nervous enough to pass. A nice 2019 LX570 diverted my attention. Wow, now that is a Lexus. Considering it for about $15k less than what the GX was going to cost. Only about 60k kms on it (40k miles) so not even broken in.
