AUX port unequal Left vs. Right sound

Help! Anyone! I have read many of the "AUX port" threads and am up to speed on the whole volume issue. Does anyone else have very different sound coming from the left speakers vs. the right when using the AUX input? Its very subtle but if you put the balance all the way to the Right or Left you get very different sound. The vocals are almost non-existant on the passenger side speakers. I have tried multiple mp3 players, ipods, and even portable CD players and I get the same result through the AUX.

Land Rover has replaced the system twice (supposedly) and it didn't change.

Anyone else experience this?

Any fixes?

The Belkin adapter didn't help and actually was rather distorted.

This is only with the AUX jack, and not the CD player or radio? If so, you really just need to bug the service department more and escalate the issue. Or find another dealer. If it's not a 'common' problem, they are often just as clueless are you are about an issue. It may be the actual wiring to the AUX jack, if it's not the jack itself.

Even the Audio Connectivity Module is wired into the same core AUX input, FYI.

I would reset all audio settings to the default. Then I would turn Logic7 off for the aux source. I would then turn off source tone memory, or something like that. Point is. . .turn off all the processing for that source input. Then listen and evaluate. Keep in mind the Logicon system processes the signal significantly. Listen without it, and see.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, I will try the above. I am having brake pads put on today and getting a loaner LR3. I'm going to compare the loaner AUX port to mine to strengthen my case with the dealership who insists there is nothing wrong.

FYI, the FM,CD,AM work perfectly and are balanced between L and R.

Remember that each source has its own tone settings profile saved. CD will have its own, AUX will have its own, etc. Perhaps the Logic7 processing is on for AUX, but off for the others. . . Easy to check even if it may be a long shot. Good luck.

Logic7 is not sticky per source, FYI. It's either on or off.

Wow, very disappointed with Land Rover today, I tried all the quick fixes suggested above and no avail. I got a loaner LR3 today (same packages as mine but an 07, mine is an 05) and the loaner system works flawlessly. Same cords, same ipod, same ears... Land Rover told me it was my problem and likely it was due to my car being one of the first 500 off the assembly line!!! Well, since I have the loaner, I told em I wouldn't come back until it was fixed. I'll keep you all posted. Thank you all for your input.

Other than being a "stupid" thing to say to a customer (who cares even if it's the first car off the line?)... Why would they say it's "your problem"? I don't get it. I suggest you send a nice calm letter to the service manager and owner about your fabulous service experience.

Just bought a LR3 and had the same AUX problem. Dealer suggested I try a different cable. Bought one at Radio Shack and it now works fine now.

my '05 HSE has issues with the AUX jack as well. I use the Belkin iPod adaptor. It's not fading or differing sounds from either side, rather one side or the other cuts out entirely sometimes. I reach back when it does and jiggle the plug and it seems to help. I need to have it looked at, I just keep forgetting. I assume it's in the jack itself, hopefully they can just pop the module out and replace it...?
