On my 2012 LR4 HSE, the Backup camera lens is scratched/pitted creating a blurred vision on the monitor. Is this camera hard thing to replace?

Since it's already scratched (how did you do that?), you might just try some polishing compound on it before replacing it.

Toothpaste works if it’s slight or go for a polishing compound for glass.

Bottom line though if it’s that bad then it’s probably a replacement. Are you sure it’s scratched and not just a build up of crud?

So here is my scratched backup camera...It was there when I bought the truck in 2021...Does anyone know how to, or have experience fixing, or a solution to fixing, this problem...?

You can replace the tiny cameras, but they are pricey; LR want $450-500 for new ones and even on eBay they’re still a couple hundred. I have a chipped one on the front bumper that I’ve thought about replacing, but can’t justify the price. All the cameras have the same p/n so you may think about swapping one from the mirror to the back; I know I don’t use my mirror cameras very much at all

Haven’t made it as far as figuring disassembly, but I figured if they sold the cameras individually then there has to be a way to replace just them. I’m going to try and get mine replaced under my warranty at some point; probably at the warranty soon to expire inspection with anything else I can come up with
