I have heard and seen online several options for blue tooth phone options. Is this anything that will suddenly work on my SE, or is there steps to take on my part or LR to make the option go live.
Thanks for the help

I am waiting for my HSE to be delivered next month. I have asked repeatedly about the BT option. The sales guide's response was that the truck won't have it from the factory just yet, but as soon as it is available in the NA market they can order the module and retrofit it.

A "retrofit" PTI/Bluetooth kit hasn't been officially confirmed in North America. (The current "kit" version that's available in other markets does not really integrate as well as you'd expect. Let's hope it's updated.)

The factory option version (which, in theory, started being available in March builds) hasn't seen an actual delivery in North America that I know of.

The factory LR/Nokia system isn't that great, honestly. It's the same system as the '05+ Range Rover has, but uses the radio head unit's LCD and doesn't offer SMS. If you don't happen to have a phone that has a compatible physical cradle/dock available (extra $) from LR, it's really not that special.

I have a Parrott CK3000 in my SE and it works great. I've got a Blackberry 7520 which doesn't have a wide range of BT options on it but if your phone is smart enough you can have voice dialing, audible caller ID, etc. Mine was about $350 installed and I'm very happy with it. Depending on your phone the Parrott is capable of a lot, I've got a Blackberry 7520 and am very happy with my system.

Here's a pic of mine:

the BT interface is the green/red phone buttom on the top right of the headunit. You can stick the interface anywhere. The microphone is mounted behind the rearview mirror and the front speaks mute the stereo and become the phone speakers.

Here's Parrott's site:

More confusion!

I got the news from the dealer that the retrofit blue tooth is available. It is about $700 installed. The bad news: The integrated head unit (radio) is not going to be functional. The keypad they say, cannot be used for dialing. Really confusing to me at this point. Has anyone gotten this installed?

What phones does the factory bluetooth option support? Is there a list somewhere?

Try the first link I posted... there is a list. Don't expect the Bluetooth "tested" compatibility list to grow. Though most phones will work fine, you'll be on your own.

For factory PTI cradles (and the phones they support), there might be more available than what's listed now. Contact your dealer.

PTI with a Blackberry 8700.

Anyone having the problem where you can voice dial, and the PTI dials the phone, but then doesnt mute the speakers and allow you to USE the PTI, you have to pick up the phone?

I am trying to run down the problem. Wondering if the problem is the PTI or if the problem is the BB.

I know Nokia makes the PTI:

but do we know if it can be flashed with upgraded firmware?
do we know what version of BT that it uses?

Also wondering if anyone else is running into these types of issus.

Jeff
