Roverine said:Yes, I would push for the OEM PTI since it offers better integration with the LR3 than an aftermarket kit. As Grommet says- they added the phone paddles on the right side of the steering wheel as part of the kit. Upon pressing the green paddle, the system listens for me to say "phone"-repeats "phone" to me and I say "dial number" and the system responds "number please." No special setup was required beyond what my dealer did to install it.
grommet said:It was orderable at the very end of '05, so it's rare. You can get the "dealer install" PTI kit installed, but it's not as functional. It must be mentioned earlier in this thread; either that, or search. It'll be far more expensive than the factory option, too, due to labor.

With "factory" PTI, you gain being able to dial phone numbers using the keypad... use search for more coverage on this.

I've got a Blackberry 7520 which doesn't have a wide range of BT options on it but if your phone is smart enough you can have voice dialing, audible caller ID, etc. Mine was about $350 installed and I'm very happy with it. Depending on your phone the Parrott is capable of a lot, I've got a Blackberry 7520 and am very happy with my system.
Here's a pic of mine:

the BT interface is the green/red phone buttom on the top right of the headunit. You can stick the interface anywhere. The microphone is mounted behind the rearview mirror and the front speaks mute the stereo and become the phone speakers.
Here's Parrott's site:
