You can't use the factory audio for 3rd party phone kits... you'd need to add a speaker just for the kit that you mount somewhere under the dash. There is a mute lead, though, but I can't find my documentation. :(

JoelD, the "buttons" are installed as part of the PTI kit. It's not a new steering wheel. It will look just like the "factory" PTI from that point of view.

xcursion, time to break out the owner's guide. :) You use the normal "voice" button, not the PTI phone buttons. Say "phone help." If your goal is to program multiple voice tags, it's probably easier to use the Navigation screen UI to program them, since you'll be able to "press" the number into the system instead of speaking it:

From the main menu, do Settings --> Voice Settings --> Voice Name Add

Grommet, what do you do after you go to the "voice name add"? I can only enter digits 0~9.

Despite playing with all the settings, I still can't get the voice feature to work. Took my car in for service today and the voice feature on the loaner (RRS Supercharged, very nice btw) works just fine. Just press the voice button and center screen shows "listening". But on my, I pull the button and nothing happens. No sign or voice. I double-checked to make sure my setting are the same as the loaner.

My dealer said it may be broken but apparently they know less about the PTI/BT features than I do. They said they won't have the equiptmt to check it until June. Short of me driving hours to a bigger dealer, any thoughts or suggestions? Tks. Your help is again greatly appreciated.

2005 LR3 SE V8 Bluetooth?

Just got a 2005 used LR3. Radio says phone not configured... Is there a bluetooth capability on this model or do I need to buy an aftermarket kit? If so, which ones are the best?

We just picked up a 2007 Camry for my wife's new commute (150 miles a day) and the BT phone in that things works like magic... two clicks to set up then it finds the phone every time. Just wanted to share...

cowpie, it was a factory option... there is also an overpriced dealer installed version. If you have a 2005, odds are it dosen't have it... since it wasn't orderable until the very last builds of the year.

My Volvo BT kit works like a charm too, no matter what phone we pair. My Crackberry 8700 (still the latest model out there) is not consistent... sometimes it works in the LR3, sometimes it doesn't. ***?

I just got a quote of $980 installed for the BT kit. Is that a good deal?

Thanks!

Anyone have a Sony w600i Walkman phone working with their LR3? I've got mine and my wife's paired with our HSE, but can't seem to make calls.
