I had the exact same problem, normal operating temp but no heat from the heater. I had a sloshing noise in the dash (air traped in the heater core). I was able to get rid of it by quasi flushing the system. Do this with the system warm (not totally hot, there could be pressure) take the cap off the resivoir first. I unhooked the two hoses that lead to the heater core. Then used a hose barb that connected to the garden hose and fit into the lower heater hose. Just turn the hose on slowly and fill the heater core. This fixe my heater perfectly and it didn't cost my 100.00 to get it flushed. It sem like for some reason anytime there is air in the system it get traped in the heater core. It must be the highest part of the system.
