cruise control wont engage

hello all,
i was wondering if anyone else had any issues going into cruise control. most of the time the cruise control will only turn on when i hit the accelerate button on the steering wheel. once in a while if i hit the cruise control on button it works. but usually not. i tried engaging it while accelerating, decelerating and cruising at different speeds. am i doing something wrong?

I don't have the manual in front of me, but I think the first time you engage the CC you HAVE to turn it "on" and then hit the accelerate button. After that, just using the on button will re-engage it if it had been disengaged in the meantime.

I don't have the manual in front of me either, but it's my understanding that the button that techboy refers to as the 'on' button is actually the 'resume' button. If there was a speed already set in the memory this may explain why it seems to work occasionally.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how it seems to work on mine.

well i guess ill have to check the manual. not a big deal, just dont have mine handy. ill look into it and let you know what i come up with. thanks for the help.
