I have a 2000 Disco II SE7 with 81K miles, I was getting a bunch of errors, 0300, 0302, 0303 all cylinder misfires, did the old seafoam thing and it added 0307 to the list. Today I changed all the plugs, they didn't look good, but they didn't look bad. It runs a whole lot better, and only throws a 0302 (cylinder2 misfire), used one of those plug wires testers with the light inside on the cyl 2 wire and it looks exactly like all the rest, I assume from this test that it is working fine. The wires are not original, although I don't know when they were replaced. Any other suggestions, other then run it till it breaks.

you may have bad plug wires while your wire tester is showing good continuity.one of the best ways ive found to test this is to use a spray bottle filled with water, with the engine running spray a fine mist around the wires and if the wires are bad you,ll see arcing. this is more effective if you can perform this in the dark ( at night, in the garage ,with the lights off is what works for me) could also be the plugs too. the advice from this forum has always been cheap champion plugs and thats whats always worked for me.(the plugs are so inexpensive it makes changing 'em that much easier) as far as replacing the wires i hear a lot of good things about the magnacore, but i have'nt had a chance to try them, in the meantime been using the autozone duralast which have'nt failed me yet.

How old are the plugs, what brand and find out what brand of wire is on your truck, what color are they??

Misfires
My plugs are brand new just put in Bocsh Platinum +4, the wires age is undetermined they are blue wires with little plastic clips on each one indicating the cylinder number. Plugs fixed all the other cylinder misfires 0300, 0303, 0307. just misfires on cylinder 2 now 0302.

OK, now we do it a step at a time. Remove plugs 3 and 7, check them for color and moisture, also cracks in the porcelin. If all looks goo, switch bot to different cylinders and see if the fault code follows them. Also, when it is dark, open the hood, start the engine, spray water on the plug wires and wiggle them with a stick, you are going to be looking for sparks between the engine and the wires.

Preference and LR knowledge says throw out the +4's and install Champion Platinums in a Disco 2

And I say keep them. I have literally 100's of people who have switch over to them, along with a set of 8 mm Magnacor wires. ONly seen 2 people turn away from them, the rest comment on the additional lower end torques and increase in mileage.
Ok, changed all the pug wires, took about 1.5 hours. I had to remove the vacuum pipe that goes across the back of engine above the distribution block (i guess thats what it called) I was able to get my hands down in there and replace all eight. So far, knock on wood, it runs better then it ever has since i've owned it. No stuttering, no hesitation, purrs like a kitten, I will run it down to San Diego from Temecula tomorrow to test it, this route will give me lots of hills and a Land Rover Dealer on the way if needed.
