Dead battery.

I was away on a business trip for 3 weeks and upon returning my 2000 DII's almost new (6 months) battery was dead. No extras but a DVD player completely disconnected (took the fuse out). Then I remembered it also happened 2 or 3 years back when my DII was on a container bound to South America for almost a month as well.
Next time will disconnect the battery altogether, but 3 weeks is not enough for a complete discharge, or is it? Should I look for grounding problems or leaks?

Yes it is enough for a complete discharge, remember the alarm, clock, airbags, and ECU are all using battery power. Over a period of time it will run the battery dead.

Yes, that is a long time to just be sitting there! Just remember, even though your battery is dying, that is awesome you were able to travel everywhere you have! And brought your disco along for some of the ride! Thats what they were made for, to travel the world, not just down the street to Jack in the Box and skool, and one gravel road every six months...poor discos.....

Thanks for the replies, guys. I actually installed one of those quick disconnect switches on the ground post that will certainly use next time.
And yes, best car I've ever owned, has gone everywhere I've taken it to, never stranded. Always a Land Rover fan!
