These days the cost of an oil filter from LR is comparable to e.g. Fram, so I tend to go with LR. Never had problems with Fram. Used to get Mann or Mahle that were fine too.

China seems to be viewed like 'made in Japan' was in the '70's. Nothing necessarily wrong with made in China in my opinion. Their EV's are world beating it seems, shame no one gets to drive them in North America, although Canadian gvt is allowing 50,000 in
It's not the quality I'm afraid of. Very soon the USA and China will have a showdown. I won't support another country against my own.

If it were RAM or SSD's made in china that is different but for auto parts industry including tires I want made in America, UK or somewhere like Germany with BMW, maybe Italy where Ferrari is lol. Look at Lewis Hamilton he walks around like a prince now. The Brits are F1, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy fans so I'd get a filter from there too j/k.

I looked at Purolator and Fram brands of oil filters today to consider them. On the Purolator filters they claim an American band, but then in the fine print it literally reads on the box "See product for country of origin" in 2 or 3 places.
Fram is made in Mexico which tbh could be fine. I was thinking about trying Oriellies again to show them what they sold me and ask if they have any quality filters.
