Okay this is going to sound really stupid and amateaur, but I have been doing light off roading and some mudding in my 1996 Land Rover Discovery for about a year now, trust me ive paid for the detriment [new wheel bearings, stub axle, driveshaft etc.] but I am wondering 2 things ....

1: Does my 1996 Disco have wheel lockers? The 4wd transfer case knob in the cab says "Lock" on it and im wondering if this means diff lockers.

2: Are their only two positions to switch it into [up and down] or are there more options...it sounds dumb, but im not sure if the 'track' that the 4wd knob moves in is up/down or others.

Your Rover has NO lockers. You do have a locking CDL (Center Differential Lock) Basically you have three open diffs as you drive. With the CDL Locked you have power then going all the time to front and rear axles.

The lever is a 4 position lever

Left side front or back is CDL Locked.

Right side toward the rear of the vehicle is High range, forward is low range.
