On a hot day the motor starts to feel like it isn't getting enough fuel and it gradually get worse until the motor stops and will not start until left for several hours. But motor itself doesn't overheat. Any thoughts? Could it be electrical sensors?

Fuel pump is going bad... you may also want to change the fuel filter.

Check for ignition spark when problem presents itself. If no spark, might be the ignition module. They are known to be problematic when they get hot especially on cars with the module located on the distributor.

Thanks for the help all. It turned out to be the filter fell off the fuel pump, the pump clogged up and failed.

Till next time,
