from my experience alternators for these are expensive, like close to $600 from the parts store not the dealer; no re-man options at AutoZone/advanced/ORiellys. It it is a straight forward replacement like any other one I’ve replaced

Yeah OE is $1,100. Rock Auto has remans for <$300. FCP and RM Euro as well for mid-$300s. Ab $350 and so on.

I was close to switching out my alternator. Dealer price was 1900 just for the hardware, Indy shop was 300 :-/

I found a new Denso (try to avoid remans) for $600 CDN. About $450 US, last summer. OE is Denso. Look for those, don't go through dealer.

I had an alternator failure with no warning while on a trip, so I didn’t have the option for fcp/rock auto; no dealer within 200mi either. Also from my experience the chain part stores don’t keep them in stock, I had to wait until the next day for one to come from the distribution center. Did get a new oe denso unit though
