I have a '97 disco; we replaced the fuel pump in August it ran great (although it made a loud humming noise unlike the previous one) until Dec., drove to the store went out to start it and no loud humming noise and it wouldn't start. Replaced the pump with a refurbished pump (still made a loud humming noise) and again it ran great, for 2 days, then began flooding at speeds over 30 mph or if you tried to take off really fast. By the next day it wouldn't start it acted as if it wasn't getting enough fuel. Changed the filter and it started and ran well for about 20 minutes and everything started happening again (flooding or lagging, and not starting again). Changed the pump again assuming that it was a bad pump (although you could still hear it humming) and the new pump (a warranty replacement that had a very quiet hum and still does) again ran great for about a day, then all the same symptoms again, and now does not start??? Does anyone have any idea what is happening? This should be a Series I and has 117,000 miles
