I've gone through 3 fuel pumps in 3 months. Fuel pump wiring hiring had a burnt spot where connects to fuel pump so replaced with fuel pump #1. 2 weeks later wouldn't start again due to fuel pump failure.Fuel pump #2 Any way long story short, landrover dealer first said I just had received 3 faulty fuel pumps. Highly unlikely. I figure it has to be an electrical problem somewhere. Dealer said the last pump they put on was putting out too much pressure, so they replaced that one as well. Could it be fuelpump relay, bad ground, alternator regulator? Dealer claims they have checked all this. Need help!!

first I hope you haven't had to buy each one of these pumps.... they should have came with a warrenty.

second, you may have a bad connection or some corrosion in a connection causing it to short out.

Since you haven't mentioned if this is a D1 or a D2.... I know on the D1 you have a fuel filter has this been changed? also on the drivers side on the frame next to the rear tire is a plug, this is for the fuel pump.... check to make sure that it is clean and free of grit, grime or corrosion.

Finally figured out what problem was. Wiring harness on front left side of intake manifold was spliced. $2500 later it is finally fixed.
