On March 20 I ordered a GOBI rack from my local dealer (the one GOBI referred me to).
At the time I was quoted 12-14 weeks by the dealer. I plopped down my cash.
On July 30 my dealer finally responded to me and gave me the "we've not heard from GOBI" line. I called GOBI to find out if an order had been received from my dealer, and they couldn't track it, but the delightful person on the phone did say that production is normal, 14 weeks from order.
For anyone counting, we're no working on week 21.
I get it, GOBI wants to be loyal to its dealers and doesn't get in the habit of giving the customer information that could make its dealer look bad. I can respect that. But in this case, I'm wondering if my dealer is about to become a business casualty of COVID, and I'm about to be screwed.
Would you be worried, or should I chill, pop a beer, and hope all turns out ok?
Thanks everyone.
