There are a lot more tires available in 20s than 19s. If you're 90/10 mall crawl/trail riding, I would just get some All-Terrain tires. MPG would be affected if it's more than more than 1" in difference and mainly tread pattern.
When running on 19s, I wouldn't recommend lowering more than 10 psi when off roading in rocky terrain.
Meh. As much as I like the look of those 20's I'm thinking it may just be too much hassle. There are only 3 for sale I can even find right now, and one needs repairing. Then I gotta sell my 19's, and the tires.
Totally agree, I've got a set of those 20" split 10 spokes too...total PITA to clean. I wrap a rag around a paint mixing stick to clean between the tight spokes.
I have these on my '16 LR4 Landmark. I have the 5 double spoke for in town, they are gorgeous, and this offroad set when I hit the dirt. I put the 2.5inch lift rods for extra clearance, so far no issues for this size tire. These Radar tires look amazing when on, you should check them out! Here are some pics. Let us know how they do on the trail. I'm in search of new, bigger, and cheaper tires to off road. My KO2 LT255/70r17s are too small. Thinking about going to Milestar patagonia mt LT285/70r17s.
Also debating about getting custom hub centric 5x120 72.6 to 5x120 70.1 wheel spacers 25mm or 1 inch to fit D2 5x120 70.1 16" wheels, preferably Terrafirma grw012 wheels.
I've got that 20" wheel and run the Nitto Terra Grapplers in 265/50/20. While I'd love to have more sidewall, these tires are great and there's no rubbing. Ideal option is the BFG KO2 but they require some mods to avoid rubbing.
I had a set of the 19's as well. Best options there are the Cooper Zeon's or the Duratracs.
I think after deliberation I'm just going to stick with my 19 and put an AT on them. The wheel just looks better overall with an all terrain on it. But if I had to stick with all seasons, I'd get the 20 in a second.
