Sorry, didn't see the update. on a 94, there should be two plugs on the swivels, top is for filling, bottom is for draining. I would hope that if it got serviced correctly it should have the grease in it. Either way, I would recommend adding some oil to break the grease down, then drive for about 10 or so miles. Lift the front end enought to get in there then drain. Add one shot grease (purcasable from any online LR parts place).
**** Make sure you can at least untighten both fill and drain plugs on each side before you do anything. If you can't, then be careful... you don't want to drain and not be able to fill, and you don't want to add if you can't drain.***
