I have a 19997 defender 90. I was having problems with the dash and headlights not turning on. The high beams will work if i push he turn signal forward. I was able to get the dash light to work properly (after inspecting the switch and finding a loose connection) in the middle position on the headlight switch, but it seems like if i push the headlight switch to the on position, the dash lights turn back off and the headlights will not turn on. It appears as though that position is not getting power. I have not been able to find any other loose connections. I have checked the fuses (but not the relays yet), and i replaced the headlights. Any advice? Is it just a bad switch that needs to be replaced?

thanks!

You have a bad switch. Known issue sadly. Easy fix though, only 2 screws hold it in.
