I'm trying to clear a code related to PCM-Engine Petrol. I've tried it, but haven't had any luck. The dash warning light is still on. The Gap Tool manual is over 190 pages long!
Thanks in advance!

The code is probably reoccurring and can't be cleared (or, more likely, pops back up as soon as it is cleared).

Just to be sure, go to faults > check fauls > then clear all.

Hi, Ryanjl,

I tried that; no luck. As you display in your ID: "Incredibly unhelpful".

Sorry I couldn't resist!! ;-))

I remember reading that some codes cannot be cleared, but will go away once the underlying problem is rectified. I think some of the smog-related codes fall into this category. What is the code you are seeing that you can’t clear?

OP, you realize that clearing the code does not fix the problem, right? If you clear a code and the problem hasn’t been fixed, it will reappear of course.

Yup, could be a PDTC (permanent diagnostic trouble code). PDTC are often things like evap codes and your evap system sensors haven’t reset yet. it might help if you tell us the code to see if it is a PDTC.
