No warning lights, just gradual loss of power followed by shut down at 65mph. After shutting down, got battery light and CEL. No codes afterwards. Will check starter too.
most likely is the alternator. that happened to me, all lights went on and the car died. I tried jumping it and nothing.
it actually killed my battery. I replaced both and it was up and running again. i remember before it died it was making like a high pitch winding noise. i bought the alternator here https://www.autohausaz.com at one-third cost from what the dealer wanted $965.
I had that happen to my Range Rover and it was a 10 Amp fuse that had to be removed and reinserted. I thinkbit was in the #10 position if memory serves me right.
Most likely an overheat, judging from the empty coolant expansion tank. Zero warning lights, coolant gauge never moved, no 'low coolant level' message. Just loss of power, followed by shut down. Hoping to resurrect it with a rebuilt engine but costs so far are astronomical, so not sure what the final outcome will be yet. Miss the truck so much.
Hmmm…you didn’t mention the empty coolant tank before, IIRC. Coolant doesn’t just disappear. Are you sure it was full before? Did you smell anything or see any puddles on the ground when you stopped? Can the engine be turned by hand?
